TAMPA, Fla. – Despite great efforts by DePaul’s veterans, the Blue Demons couldn’t top Conference USA’s number one, South Florida. The Bulls, led by Michelle Collier, shut out the Blue Demons in three games (30-23, 30-24, 30-21).
Although DePaul out-blocked the Bulls 9-6, they couldn’t stop the efforts of South Florida’s Michelle Collier (16 kills, 11 digs).
“We played a really solid game tonight,” said Head Coach Dawn Dockstader. “I am pleased with the attitude and effort we put out tonight.”
Sparking the Blue Demons was Amy Holmes who had 15 digs and two block assists.
“Holmes played amazing defense,” said Dockstader. “I am really proud of her. She came to play tonight and it really made a difference.”
Lara Marks led the offense with 15 kills, two solo blocks and two block assists while earning an attack percentage of .500.
Katie Engel contributed with 14 kills and six digs while Amie West also played at a high level.
“Amie set one of her better matches of the season.”
