Volleyball Drops Match To UAB

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Blue Demons dropped a conference match to UAB on Saturday night setting their record at 5-24, 1-10 C-USA. The Blazers topped DePaul in four games with the help of Martina Shields’ 23 kills (30-26, 27-30, 32-30, 30-25).
The Blue Demons caught fire in game two and nearly pulled off a win in game three but couldn’t finish off the Blazers. UAB sealed the deal in game four 30-25.
Leading the Blue Demon pack was Janet Goreham who collected a double-double with 14 kills, 11 digs while earning an attack percentage of .278.
“Goreham really gave us a great match,” said Coach Dockstader. “But things just weren’t clicking for us tonight.”
Katie Engel also recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 13 digs.
The Blue Demons play their final match of the regular season at Marquette next Friday.
