CHICAGO – DePaul goalkeeper Michael Timlin was named Conference USA’s Defensive Player of the Week after posting a pair of shutouts at Wisconsin-Green Bay and against Charlotte. He is the third Blue Demon to earn the league’s weekly honor this season joining Jeff Klitzke and Luke Rojo.
Last Wednesday against the Phoenix, the sophomore made four saves in the win and then came back with three stops against Charlotte on Saturday. Timlin has notched three consecutive shutouts for the Blue Demons while lowering his goals against average to 0.84. In seven matches this season he has totaled 22 saves while allowing just six goals in 647 minutes of play.
The Blue Demons play their final non-conference match of the regular season on Wednesday at Wisconsin. Kickoff with the Badgers in Madison is set for 7 p.m. DePaul returns home on Saturday for a critical C-USA showdown against UAB. Saturday’s action begins at 1 p.m. at Wish Field.
