Brown, Seals Push DePaul Past Illinois All-Stars

Brown was 9-11 from the field and also recorded three steals on defense. Seals was 6-9 from the floor, 2-3 from 3pt. range, and played solid defense on the perimeter.
“LeVar was a great inspiration tonight,” DePaul head coach Dave Leitao said. “We finally got the message on defense in the second half.
“We didn’t rebound with tenacity and didn’t concentrate as a result with the missed shots and missed free throws,” Leitao added.
The Blue Demons rallied after a slow start in which they shot just .289 (11-38) from the field in the first half and trailed by as much as eight points in the first half (29-21 with 2:24 to play) but came back and only trailed 29-28 at halftime despite holding the All-Stars to just .370 (10-27) shooting from field.
DePaul warmed up from the field in the second stanza shooting .593 (16-27) from the floor while outscoring the All-Stars 45-33 to earn the victory.
Free throw shooting was a sore spot for DePaul all night long as the Blue Demons converted just 15-35 attempts. The All-Stars also out-rebounded DePaul 46-40.
Delonte Holland was the only other Blue Demon in double figures as he scored 11 points. Brian Taylor led the All-Stars with 18 whiel Marlin Maxey and Mac Irvin each added 14.
