Volleyball Falls to USF

CHICAGO - The DePaul Blue Demon volleyball sqaud fell to the USF Bulls in three games, (30-32, 28-30, 22-30) Saturday evening at the DePaul Athletic Center. The Blue Demons fall to 11-18 overall and 3-9 in C-USA, while, the Bulls improve to 11-18 and 5-6 in C-USA.
Game-one saw DePaul battle to their twelfth game past 30 points, however the Blue Demons were unable to close out the game. DePaul would go up by as many as five points, however the Bulls, fought back to tie the game at 26 all, on a kill from outside hitter Shemeka Mitchell. USF took the game 30-32. DePaul, sophomore Mandy Moorberg recorded 9 kills in game-one.
The Bulls took their momentum into games two and three, holding the Blue Demons a .190 attack percentage in game-two and a negative .030 in game-three. DePaul would lose both games and the match.
Moorberg led the Blue Demon offense with 19 kills, while freshman Ellen Hayes led the defense with eight digs.
For the Bulls Fran Pozzi tallied 16 kills and a team high 14 digs.
The Blue Demons will close out their regular season at home Friday, November 14th against rival Marquette. The match will begin at 7:00pm.
