CHICAGO – The women’s track and field team split up this weekend as half the team went to the Lewis Invitational and the other half went to the Iowa State Track Classic.
Both halves had successful weekends after collecting many personal bests and two new school records.
Leah Rygh shattered the DePaul school record for the mile that she set just weeks ago. At the Iowa State Track Classic, Rygh ran a 4:53.64, 5.48 faster than her time at the Badger Track Classic earlier last month when she ran a 4:58.12.
Also making DePaul history was Diana Runnels who set the new benchmark in the 400-meter dash when she ran a 56.32 at the Iowa State Track Classic. Runnels last set the record in 2002 when she ran it in 57.32. Runnels ran a personal best in the 200-meter dash as well, clocking in at 25.28.

Jeana LeRoy set a personal best in the shot put with a mark of 39’4.5” and in the weight throw with a distance of 40’7.” Megan Greeley threw a 43’3.75” in the weight throw, earning her a personal best as well.
