CHICAGO – The DePaul volleyball team had a successful weekend at their second spring tournament of the season. They competed across town on Saturday at the Three Wise Men Tournament hosted by Loyola. The Blue Demons have two more weekends of spring play but are already taking the shape of a winning team.
The tournament consisted of seven teams. Each match up featured two games to 30 points.
The Blue Demons split games with Northwood, IUPUI, UW-Milwaukee and beat the Loyola alumni team, Lewis, and Marquette.
“We were pleased with their defensive transition,” said Head Coach Dawn Dockstader.
“We worked all week on that particular aspect of the game and it really paid off. You could tell there was a concerted effort to make that successful.”
“We’re starting to look like a team that will win 20 games in the 2003 season.”
One player to highlight DePaul’s efforts was Janet Cotter who led offensively and defensively.
“Janet moved to the middle and really played as well as she ever has in a Blue Demon uniform.”
The Demons play again next Saturday in Champaign against a list of tough teams.
Saturday’s Schedule:
