DePaul Dominates Drake & Claims Second at Bulldog Invite

“I am very impressed with our offense again this match. We controlled the ball and played our game at our tempo. Even when Drake went on a 5-0 run in game three the players stayed in the game and triumphed,” Head Coach Dawn Dockstader said. “We carried over our momentum from this afternoon’s game in tonight’s game. We played extremely well as a team. I am very happy with our performance this weekend.”
The Blue Demons came out in game one hungry for another victory and Drake was going to be their victim. They controlled the tempo from the first point and never looked back. The first game saw outstanding hitting from senior Meg Griffin.
DePaul won game two 30-20. The Blue Demons were able to keep a leash on the Bulldogs hitting holding them to .000 hitting percentage while the Blue Demons blew through with a .370 hitting percentage. Setter Amie West assisted on 16 kills for the Blue Demons.
DePaul came out in game three wanting to take the match. The outside threesome of Janet Cotter, Many Moorberg and

Three Named to the All-Tournament Team
Mandy Moorberg and Amie West were named to the All-Tournament team after their outstanding performances. Moorberg had 52 kills, 29 digs and one block assist on the weekend. West had 157 assists, 29 digs one solo block and assisted on six blocks. West’s 157 assists on the weekend placed her number four on DePaul’s All-time career assist list. West now has 1751 career assists.
Red-Shirt freshman, Ellen Hayes was named the tournament’s most valuable libero. Hayes successfully got down on 39 digs this weekend.
