Joe Tulley Named Director of Operations

CHICAGO – Former Blue Demon captain Joe Tulley has been named DePaul’s Director of Basketball Operations it was announced today by head coach Dave Leitao.
“I am very pleased that Joe will continue to be a part of our program,” Leitao said. “Joe is a quality person who played a very big role in helping us begin to establish the foundation of this program last season with his leadership and dedication.”
Tulley played for the Blue Demons from 1999-03 and served as captain of both the 2001-02 and 2002-03 teams. His new duties with the DePaul coaching staff will include the coordination of many daily aspects of the Blue Demon program including video operations, team travel and the overseeing of the student managerial staff.
A gifted shooter, Tulley appeared in 105 contests for the Blue Demons and finished sixth on DePaul’s all-time 3pt. field goals made list with 119 and fifth in 3pt. field goals attempted with 346. He was named the Conference USA Player of the Week last January after scoring 21 second-half points in a victory of Loyola-Chicago. A member of DePaul’s 2000 NCAA Tournament team, Tulley also holds the Allstate Arena record with six 3pt. field goals in a game (he accomplished the feat twice).
A native of Rockford, Ill. where he was an All-State selection at perennial powerhouse Boylan High School, Tulley earned his degree in Finance from DePaul last spring
