Volleyball Falls in Three

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The DePaul volleyball team dropped a three-game (30-19, 30-21, 30-21) match to UW-Milwaukee, Tuesday evening at the Klotsche Center. The Blue Demons fall to 10-14 overall, while the Panthers improve to 13-7.
The Blue Demons were unable to get their offense going, hitting .108 for the match. Senior middle blocker, Janet Goreham paced the Blue Demons, recording 11 of their 36 kills. For the second straight match, Goreham finished with an attack percentage over .300, recording a .346 for the match.
The Panthers, on the other hand, hit .311 and had six players finish with attack percentages above .300. Leanne Felsing led the UW-Milwaukee attack, finishing the match with16 kills and a .378 attack percentage.
UW-Milwaukee and DePaul were knotted at seven apiece in the first game, but the Panthers strung together a14-4 run, and went on to win game-one, 30-19.
The second and third games were much of the same, the Blue Demons were able to keep the games close in the beginning but were unable to score points late in the game. DePaul fell in the final two games by the exact same score, 30-21.
Defensively, Ellen Hayes led the Blue Demons with 16 digs and Goreham added six total blocks.
The Blue Demons will hit the road this weekend, traveling to C-USA opponents Saint Louis and Memphis on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. (CST).
