Blue Demons Fall to Marquette in Three

MILWAUKEE, Wis.- The DePaul volleyball team was unable to stop Marquette’s offense, falling in three games (30-19, 30-22, 30-25) Friday evening at the Al McGuire Center. The Blue Demons fall to 7-12 overall and 0-3 in C-USA, while the Golden Eagles improve to 11-5 and 1-2 in C-USA.
The Blue Demons were up 8-5 in game-one, but stalled as the Golden Eagles went on an 11-1 run to take control of game.
Janet Goreham’s kill at 12-13 pulled the Blue Demons within one in the second game, however the Golden Eagles strung together a 10-2 run to put the game out of reach for DePaul.
The third game stayed close, but the Golden Eagles were able to pull out the win behind Theresa Coughlin’s five kills and three total blocks.
Amy Holmes led the Blue Demons collecting 12 kills and a .333 attack percentage.
The Blue Demons will return to action next weekend, visiting C-USA rivals, USF and UAB. DePaul will face USF on Friday and UAB on Saturday; both matches are scheduled to begin a
