Blue Demons Fall on the Road

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The DePaul men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Louisville on Saturday evening in Conference USA action. The Cardinals came up with a goal late in the first half and held off the Blue Demons for the remainder of the match.
Louisville (4-4-3, 1-1-1 C-USA) outshot DePaul, 9-2, in the first half and found the net in the 43rd minute. Marco Terminesi found David Guzman in the box and he beat Blue Demon keeper Brian Allen at 42:59.
The Blue Demons came back in the second half with eight shots compared just one for the Cardinals. However, Louisville goalkeeper Tyler Wilcox was there each time and finished the match with five saves.
DePaul (2-9-3, 0-4-1 C-USA) returns to Wish Field next weekend for their final three-game homestand of the regular season. The club hosts Memphis on Friday followed by Wisconsin on Saturday. The final home match of the 2004 season is set for Oct. 20 against Marquette. DePaul wraps up the regular season with road matches at Northern Illinois, Charlotte and UAB.
