CHICAGO - DePaul freshman midfielder John Kornfeld picked up a pair of Conference USA honors voted on by the league's coaches. He was named to the league's third team and was a member of the All-Freshman team.
Kornfeld was the only player to start and play in all 19 matches this season for DePaul. He finished his rookie season with four points on two goals while taking 17 shots. His goal against Marquette in the 88th minute forced overtime where the Blue Demons eventually won, 2-1. Kornfeld is the sixth player at DePaul to earn All-Freshman honors in Conference USA and the first since Luke Rojo in 2001.
Regular-season champion Memphis swept the league's individual honors with Dayton O'Brien and Sebastian Vecchio winning the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year awards, respectively. Richie Grant was also named the C-USA Coach of the Year.
