The Blue Demons finished the 2003-04 season, with a 22-10 record, won a share of the Conference USA title and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Next season DePaul will join the BIG EAST Conference.

“We are extremely happy that Jabari has decided to join the DePaul Basketball family,” Leitao said. “He will give us a quiet toughness that I think every successful program needs. Jabari can play on the ball because of his size and tremendous court vision but he also owns the ability to swing to other positions on the floor.”
Currie, a 6-4, 195-pound guard, has been named a high honorable mention All-American by Street & Smith’s and was tabbed the 34th-best shooting guard in the country by Rivals.com. Currie was also named the 85th-best player in the country by Hoopmasters.com, one of the top 105 players in the nation by Athlon and was ranked among the top 50 players by Hoop Scoop Online. He earned All-Detroit honors after averaging 19 points, four rebounds and four assists during his junior season at Pershing.
