CHICAGO -- DePaul has signed Jordan Ball and Caitlin Callaghan to National Letters-of-Intent to play volleyball for the Blue Demons, head coach Dawn Dockstader announced today.
“I am very excited about the additions of both Caitlin and Jordan to our program. They will help to make our first season in the BIG EAST Conference a memorable one,” Dockstader said.
Ball, a 6-0 middle blocker, hails from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and was All-State honorable mention at Menomonee Falls High School. She was also a first-team All-Greater Metro Conference pick.
"Jordan is an outstanding athlete; she plays basketball as well as volleyball. With her size and athletic ability I look for her to contribute right away," Dockstader said.
Callaghan, a 5-11 outside hitter, joins the Blue Demons after earning four varsity letters in volleyball at Benet Academy. She was named her team MVP after both her junior and senior seasons. This fall she was also named first team All-Area by the Chicago Sun Times.
"Caitlin is the perfect prototype of an outside hitter,” Dockstader said. “She is explosive, quick, and a true terminator on the outside. I expect her to immediately compete for a starting position."
The Blue Demons travel to Louisville, this weekend to play in their final Conference USA Tournament. DePaul, the No. 12 seed, will face the fourth seed Memphis, on Friday at 3:00 (EST).
