Inanga and Deleston Lead the Blue Demons

KENOSHA, Wis. – Larry Inanga paced DePaul, breaking the Carthage College Invitational record in the 55 meter dash. Inanga surpassed the record (6.54) set by Blue Demon teammate, Jamal Cornelious in 2003, finishing his first place preliminary run in 6.52, and first place dash in the finals in 6.53. Cornelious, only a step behind, took second place in the race at 6.59.
The Blue Demons took fourth place overall at the meet, through the efforts of Rashard Deleston. Deleston snatched the first place spot in the men’s long jump, marking a 6.79 meter (22’03.50”) spot, as well as a second place finish in the triple jump. Less than an inch behind first place finisher Charles Mashozera, Deleston posted a distance of 14.23 meters (46’08.25).
Anthony Becknek tallied a second place finish in the 3000 meter run, as Gavin Kennedy followed right behind. Becknek recorded a time of 8:39.05 and Kennedy took third at 8:46.96.
DePaul continues their indoor season next weekend in
