CHICAGO – The DePaul volleyball team will break from BIG EAST Conference play to host UW-Green Bay Tuesday at the DePaul Athletic Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday's match marks the 16th time that the Blue Demons and Phoenix have met. DePaul holds a 13-2 series advantage but UW-Green Bay has won two of the last three meetings. In 2004, the Phoenix held on to win a tight 3-2 match and in 2002 they took a 3-1 match from the Blue Demons. The 2003 the Blue Demons used home court advantage to squeak out a 3-2 victory.
The Blue Demons (3-15) enter Tuesday's match on a nine match slide and fell to No. 10 Notre Dame over the weekend. Against the Irish, junior outside hitter Morgan Ingersoll had a career day, leading the team with 11 kills and a .562 attack percentage. On the season Ingersoll, is averaging 2.75 kills per game and a .185 hitting percentage.
UW-Green Bay (10-10) has dropped its last three matches and are led by senior outside hitter Kackie Rosen. The senior has registered 334 kills, averaging 4.70 per game.
The Blue Demons will return to conference play this weekend welcoming Georgetown and USF to the DePaul Athletic Center. The Blue Demons will tangle with the Hoyas (5-14, 1-6 BIG EAST) on Saturday and the Bulls (3-14, 1-6 BIG EAST) on Sunday, both matches are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
