Blue Demons Fall to St. John's

"Today we had a nice team effort," Dockstader said. "Although the scores indicted differently, I am please with how my team played."
Three Blue Demons, freshman Caitlin Callaghan, junior Morgan Ingersoll and senior Mandy Moorberg each finished with eight kills. Middle blockers, freshman Cristina Correa and junior Deane Gibson each chipped in six kills. Defensively, Callaghan led all players with 12 digs and freshman libero Maureen Zigulich added 10.
DePaul registered its best hitting percentage of the match in game one, but so did
Game two proved to be one of the tighter games of the match as the score was knotted six times and the lead exchanged hands three times. Down 8-10, Blue Demon setter Mandi Caputo served three straight points to give DePaul an 11-10 advantage. The Blue Demons relinquished the lead two points later as the Red Storm strung together a 10-2 run to put the game out of reach.
The Blue Demons found themselves down 10-6 in game four, but rallied back to tie the game at 21. The two teams battled back and forth, but DePaul committed five errors in the final points of the game, as
Hui Ping Huang led all players with 15 kills and a .375 attack percentage. Huang also tallied three of the Red Storms 10 blocks.
The Blue Demons will break from conference play to host UW-Milwaukee Wednesday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. The weekend will bring BIG EAST foe No. 11 Notre Dame to the
