CHICAGO – DePaul will make changes in the leadership of its volleyball program as head coach Dawn Dockstader and assistant coach Julie Wiejak have both resigned, it was announced by Blue Demon Athletic Director Jean Lenti Ponsetto today.
“DePaul University and the Athletic Department would like to thank both Dawn and Julie for their hard work and dedication to the program,” Ponsetto said. “We appreciate their service to our student-athletes and the DePaul community during their tenures.”
Ponsetto added that the search for a new coaching staff will begin immediately.
Dockstader spent nine seasons as the Blue Demons’ head coach, compiling a 116-165 record. During her tenure she guided the program to the 2001 NCAA Tournament after winning the Conference USA Tournament. She boasted four 20-win seasons and coached four players who earned AVCA All-Region honors.
Wiejak spent six seasons on the Blue Demon bench as an assistant coach. She was on the DePaul sidelines for the 2001 NCAA Tournament run and ran the DePaul volleyball camp programs.
