DePaul Women Compete at Elmhurst

CHICAGO – The DePaul women’s track & field team competes this Saturday at the Elmhurst College Invite.  In the second meet of the outdoor season, the group will make the short trip to Elmhurst, Ill., bringing a larger squad than the opening weekend.  Field events kick off the fun at 10:00 a.m. and the races begin at 11:00 a.m.

For the first time this season, the Blue Demons will have both a male and female student-athlete (Dave Boduch and Lindsey Deason) taking part in the javelin throw.

At the Raleigh Relays last weekend, Marlene Key gave an impressive performance in the 10,000 meter run, covering the distance in 36:06.48 for a fifth place finish overall. Kayla Burks made her first appearance as a Blue Demon, springing to sixth place in the high jump with a 1.70m (5’07.00”) leap.

Following the Elmhurst College Invite, the DePaul track & field team will head to Naperville, Ill., for the Chicagoland Championships.  The meet will take place on April 7-9.
