Game one saw the Blue Demons and Red Storm battle through five early ties. With the game tied at six,
DePaul took a 10-9 lead in game two, when senior Morgan Ingersoll terminated the ball from freshman setter Sarah Cullen. The Blue Demons continued to build on their lead as the Red Storm committed back-to-back errors, and two additional Ingersoll kills gave DePaul a 14-11 advantage. The two teams traded sideouts until
The Blue Demons kept the final frame tight as they tied the game at 18, but the Red Storm would never relinquish control of the game as they won 30-24. Hardimon and Rimgaila led the floor with five kills apiece in the final set.
Ingersoll led the Blue Demons both offensively and defensively, finishing with 10 kills and nine digs. Cullen dished out 25 assists.
