Blue Demons Roll Past Chicago State

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Karron Clarke led DePaul with 15 points and the Blue Demons beat Chicago State 83-56 Wednesday night to post consecutive wins for the first time this season.
Wilson Chandler scored 10 points while Sammy Mejia and Will Walker each added eight for DePaul which improved to 4-4 and reached the .500 mark for the first time this season.
The victory was also the fifth-straight home triumph for the Blue Demons dating back to last season.
Junior David Holston led the Cougars (3-6) with 12 points. The 5-7 guard was the only
DePaul opened the second half with a 21-13 run to grab a 59-39 lead on Wesley Green's fadeaway jumper. The lead peaked at 30 points in the closing minutes.
With Clarke scoring nine points on 4-for-4 shooting from the field, including a fastbreak alley-oop, DePaul took a 36-26 advantage at the half.
DePaul held the Cougars to 31 percent shooting in the first half, using a decided height advantage to block seven shots and win the rebound battle 24-14.
