The Records
DePaul is 2-5 after falling to UIC, 85-80, on Saturday at the Allstate Arena. Mississippi is 8-0 after beating Winthrop, 76-71, on December 13 in Jackson, Miss. The Rebels are receiving votes in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Top 25 polls. This is the opening round of the San Juan Shootout.

The Last Meeting
DePaul got 19 points from Bernard Randolph and 12 rebounds from Tyrone Corbin as the Blue Demons beat Mississippi, 75-67, on March 25, 1983 in the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament at the Rosemont Horizon.

Jerry Wainwright is in his 14th season as a collegiate head coach and his third at DePaul. He is 220-180 overall and 34-34 with the Blue Demons. Wainwright has never faced the Rebels as a head coach. Andy Kennedy is in his third season as a head coach and his second at Mississippi. He is 50-26 overall and 29-13 with the Rebels. Kennedy is 1-0 against the Blue Demons.
