DePaul is 3-7 after beating La Salle, 93-88, on December 22 at the San Juan Shootout. Detroit is 4-7 after losing to Texas A&M, 79-39, on December 19 in College Station, Texas.

DePaul leads the all-time series 26-7. The Blue Demons have won 14 of the last 16 meetings including the last contest, a 78-47 victory on February 27, 1995 in Rosemont. The Last Meeting
Tom Kleinschmidt scored a game-high 20 points while Brandon Cole added 18 as DePaul beat Detroit, 78-47, on February 27, 1995 at the Rosemont Horizon. DePaul also got 12 points and 12 rebounds from Bryant Bowden while Carl Pickett led the Titans with 11 points.
The Coaches
Jerry Wainwright is in his 14th season as a collegiate head coach and his third at DePaul. He is 221-182 overall and 35-36 with the Blue Demons. Wainwright has never faced the Titans as a head coach.
