Hey Blue Demon Fans!
Well the weather really felt like fall (and football season!) this past week! It was time for sweatshirts and pants because the temperature really dropped. I am excited to carve pumpkins with some of my teammates before Halloween!
We only had two practices before we were on the road again, this time to Cincinnati. We left at noon on Thursday and arrived at our hotel in the late afternoon. We didn’t have much time before practice, so we grabbed our stuff and headed to the gym. It is really fun to see other school’s gyms, especially other schools that are in the BIG EAST Conference. Of course none are better than DePaul’s! We stayed in a hotel called the Vernon Manor. It was really vintage and a little scary! It was really nice though, and I think we all enjoyed staying there.
We played the Bearcats on Friday night, but lost in three sets. We kept our heads high though, because we had another big match to prepare for. We traveled from Cincinnati to Louisville on Saturday. We had time for dinner and practice, and then went back to the hotel to get some sleep for the following day’s match.
The match against Louisville went four sets. Overall it was a fairly close match, but we did not get to grab the win. We headed back to Chicago after the match.
Now we have a full week of practice, and then we get to play at home this weekend!! Our first match of the weekend is versus Pittsburgh at 2 p.m. on Saturday, followed by West Virginia at 2p.m. on Sunday. Both matches will be held at McGrath Arena. They are going to be great matches! Hope to see everyone at the games supporting DePaul!
Have a great week! GO BLUE!
Christy
