DePaul to Host University of Chicago in Exhibition Game

CHICAGO - In addition to this weekend's events surrounding the start of the 2009-10 season, the men's basketball team will host the University of Chicago in an exhibition game on Friday, Nov. 6. The preseason warm-up is the second half of an exhibition doubleheader with the DePaul women's team.
In addition to the exhibition game, DePaul will hold a scrimmage with Bradley on Saturday, Oct. 31. The practice scrimmage is closed between DePaul and Bradley under NCAA bylaws that also prohibit any statistical reporting of the event.
The exhibition game is the final event for the Blue Demons of the preseason that starts on Friday night with Blue Madness. The doors to McGrath Arena open for Blue Madness at 7:30 p.m. and the night's festivities get started at 8 p.m. On Saturday, the DePaul men's and women's basketball teams are hosting an open practice from 1-3 p.m. at McGrath Arena.
In the first half of the exhibition doubleheader on Nov. 6, the DePaul women's team plays Illinois Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m. The DePaul men's team faces the University of Chicago at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The Maroons - a NCAA Division III program - posted a 6-19 record last season including a 6-8 mark in the University Athletic Association.
DePaul's regular-season opener is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 17 against Columbia at Allstate Arena. Season ticket packages and a variety of mini-plans are available by calling (773) 325-SLAM. Single-game tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. CT on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
