CJ Gunn to Participate in E*Trade 3-Point Championship

DePaul senior garners invite to compete back in his hometown
INDIANAPOLIS – DePaul senior guard CJ Gunn has been selected to participate in the E*TRADE Men's 3-Point Championship, Friday, April 3, as part of the 37th annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships. The event takes place at Butler's Hinkle Fieldhouse at 6 p.m. CT Friday night. The event will be broadcast nationally on ESPN on Sunday, April 5 at 11 a.m. CT.
Gunn, an Indianapolis native, finished his collegiate career in March after leading DePaul in scoring in both 2024-25 and 2025-26. He led the team with 56 made three-pointers this season while shooting 32.6 percent from beyond the arc. Over his two seasons at DePaul, Gunn averaged 1.7 made three-pointers per game and shot 31.4 percent from three-point range while helping the Blue Demons set the single-season team three-point record in 2024-25. Earlier this season, he tied the second-most three-pointers made in Wintrust Arena history with a career-best seven against Marquette on Jan. 16, 2026. Overall, Gunn averaged 13.1 points per game this season, which ranked 16th in the BIG EAST.
The State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships invites a collection of the nation's elite men's and women's college basketball players to compete for slam dunk and 3-point shooting bragging rights. The night features the yearly Slam Dunk Championship, the E*TRADE Men's 3-Point Championship, the Celsius Women's 3-Point Championship and the team shootout. The winners of the Men's and Women's 3-Point Championships will then compete in the Skechers Battle of the Champions.
It will be the seventh time Indianapolis has played host to the event, and the third time the annual competition will take place at Hinkle Fieldhouse, the home of the Butler Bulldogs. Gunn is the first Blue Demon to compete in the event since Umoja Gibson in 2023.
