Naughton Earns BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Selection

CHICAGO - DePaul's Deirdre Naughton was named to the BIG EAST Conference's weekly women's basketball honor roll today. The senior guard helped the No. 15 DePaul women's basketball team to a 4-0 start and was named the MVP of the Maggie Dixon Classic on Nov. 21.
Naughton averaged 17.5 points per game while she became DePaul's 23rd 1,000 point scorer against North Dakota on Nov. 15. The senior from Winnetka, Illinois transferred to DePaul as sophomore and has tallied 1,050 points in two plus season with DePaul. The guard has recorded 1,469 points in her collegiate career.
Naughton averaged 15.5 points, 7.5 assists and 6.5 rebounds during the Maggie Dixon Classic last week while she tallied 10 assists in the championship game against San Diego.
Connecticut senior Tina Charles was named the League's player of the week while Notre Dame's Skylar Diggins earned the League's first Freshman of the Week selection this season.
Naughton joined Notre Dame's Ashley Barlow, Mi-Khida Hankins from Providence, Syracuse's Nicole Michael and Se'Shena Stevens from St. John's on the weekly honor roll.
The Blue Demons return to action on Tuesday at Northwestern. DePaul and the Wildcats tangle at 8 p.m. at Welsh Ryan Arena and the contest can be seen live on www.BigTenNetwork.com.
