DePaul Struggles Versus Louisville

LOUISVILLE -The DePaul volleyball team lost a BIG EAST Conference match 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-20) to Louisville on Sunday. The Blue Demons fall to 1-18, 0-6 BIG EAST while the Cardinals improve to 10-5, 5-1 in conference play.
The Cardinals started the first set going on an 11-3 run. The Blue Demons were unable to find an offensive rhythm and could only manage .040 (6-5-25) team attack percentage. Louisville would use its .440 attack percentage to go on and win the set 25-11.
DePaul continued to struggle offensively and only tallied 4 kills in the second set. The Cardinals utilized 19 kills and won it 25-10.
After the Intermission, the Blue Demons improved offensively and put up a team attack percentage of .229 (14-6-35). Lauren Blasi and Kate Letcher both tallied four kills in the third set and defensive specialist Katherine Knutson had eight of her 10 digs. Despite better play from the Blue Demons the Cardinals closed the set 25-20.
DePaul will finish its five game road stretch at Notre Dame on Friday Oct. 15 and then return to McGrath Arena on Sunday Oct. 17 to play SIU-Edwardsville.
