Graham and Salvatore Pace Cross Country at Bradley Classic

PEORIA, Ill. - Toni Salvatore led the women's cross country team to a second place finish at the Bradley Classic, while Matthew Graham won the Men's 8K race by a narrow margin Friday night. The Bradley Classic was held at the Newman Golf Course, which is also the site for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships.
Graham fought off Iowa's Jeff Thode to win the 8K race with a career best time of 23:37. The next DePaul runner to cross the finish line was freshman Ed McDaniel. McDaniel came in 37th with a time 25:11. The men's team combined for a score of 266 to place 10th out of 21 teams. Max Clink finished with a time of 25:37, Brian Begalke finished with a time of 25:58, Chris Miedema finished with a time of 25:59, Ian Sanchez finished with a time of 26:06, Luke Rygh finished with a time of 26:36, Dennis Baliga finished with a time of 27:21, Dan Steinfels finished with a time of 27:28 and Max Rodrigues finished with a time of 28:34.
Salvatore finished the women's 6K race in eighth with a time of 21:37. Mary Cate Quiett, Claira O'Brien, Kelly Pickering and Stephanie Hughes all finished in the top 50 and contributed points to the Blue Demon second place finish. The women's team posted a score a score of 131 to finish second out of 20 teams. Erin Lakie finished in 97th, Courtney Avvampato finish in 103rd, Hannah Pulliam finished in 120th, Katherine Vollrath finished in 132nd, Alexandra Muller finished in 146th, Kelsey Dolan finished in 159th and Kristen Lafferty finished in 167th.
The Blue Demons return to competition on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the BIG EAST Conference Championships in Jamesville, N.Y.
