Blue Demons Head to Milwaukee

CHICAGO- The DePaul volleyball team plays UW-Milwaukee on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Blue Demons trail in the all-time series 14-18-1 and last dropped 3-0 match to UW-Milwaukee in the 2005 season.
The Blue Demons defeated BIG EAST Conference opponent Syracuse in their last match 3-2 (25-21, 21-25, 17-25, 25-22, 16-14). DePaul has won three out of its last four matches. In the match, against Syracuse, sophomore Rachel Aumann led the Blue Demons with 17 kills and Katherine Knutson continued to provide great defensive support with 20 digs.
DePaul returns to BIG EAST play this weekend with a pair of matches at McGrath Arena. On Saturday, the Blue Demons will square off against Connecticut at 2 p.m. and then 24 hours later the Blue Demons are slated to play St John's.
DePaul vs. UW-Milwaukee
UW-Milwaukee enters the weekend with a 14-8 overall record and a 10-1 record in the Horizon League... the Blue Demons trail in the all-time series with an 18-14-1 record... in 2005, UW-Milwaukee defeated DePaul 3-0.
Double Digit Digs
Katherine Knutson has had double digit digs in 20 matches this season... she leads the team and is currently ranked seventh in the BIG EAST with 4.25 digs per set...recorded 20 digs in the match against Syracuse.
Defensively Strong
DePaul is currently fourth in the BIG EAST averaging 15.15 digs per set... DePaul totaled 113 digs in the match against Georgia State which is the second most in the BIG EAST... Chelsea Thurlby totaled 33 digs against Georgia State which is the second most any athlete has had this season in the BIG EAST.
Freshman Standout
Freshman Chelsea Kirkpatrick had been in double digit kills 10 times this season and leads the team with 2.37 kills per set.
Offensive Standouts
DePaul had 62 kills in the match against Syracuse... three players had double digit kills in the match against Syracuse, Rachel Aumann had 17, Kate Letcher had 14 and Chelsea Kirkpatrick had 13.
