DePaul Set to Play Villanova

CHICAGO- The DePaul volleyball team plays at Villanova on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Blue Demons trail in all-time series and last season DePaul dropped a 3-0 match to Villanova.
The Blue Demons came up short in their last match against St. John's. Against St. John's the Blue Demons were led by Rachel Aumann who had 17 kills in the match. Katherine Knutson continued her outstanding defensive season and provided 14 digs in the Blue Demons last match.
The Blue Demons wrap up their season next weekend with two BIG EAST matches. The first match is on Saturday Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. when the Blue Demons face Seton Hall and then on Sunday Nov. 14 DePaul plays at Rutgers.
DePaul vs. Villanova
Villanova enters the weekend with a 19-6 overall record and a 6-1 record in the BIG EAST... the Blue Demons trail in the all-time series with a 0-5 record... last season, Villanova defeated DePaul 3-0.
Double Digit Digs
Katherine Knutson has had double digit digs in 22 matches this season... she leads the team and is currently ranked sixth in the BIG EAST with 4.22 digs per set...recorded 14 digs in the match against St. John's.
Defensively Strong
DePaul is currently fifth in the BIG EAST averaging 15.26 digs per set... DePaul is currently sixth in the BIG EAST averaging 1.98 blocks per set... DePaul totaled 113 digs in the match against Georgia State which is the second most in the BIG EAST... Chelsea Thurlby totaled 33 digs against Georgia State which is the second most any athlete has had this season in the BIG EAST… Molly Creek totaled 9 blocks in the match against St. John's which is tied for fourth most in the BIG EAST.
Freshman Standout
Freshman Chelsea Kirkpatrick had been in double digit kills 12 times this season and leads the team with 2.40 kills per set.
