Mangan Named to NSCAA Scholar All-America Team

CHICAGO - Alex Mangan is becoming an All-American kind of a soccer player.
For the second time in four days, Mangan was selected for an All-American team when the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) named the DePaul standout to its Senior College Men's Scholar All-America Team on Tuesday.
Mangan will receive his award at the NSCAA All-America Luncheon Jan. 15 in Baltimore during the NSCAA annual convention.
Last weekend, Mangan became the first DePaul soccer player to be named to the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award All-America Second Team during the NCAA College Cup at UC Santa Barbara.
Last month, Mangan became the first DePaul soccer player to make the ESPN Academic All-American Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The forward from Wheaton Warrenville South excelled on the field and in the class room this season.
He was All-BIG EAST Conference Third Team after leading the Blue Demons in goals, points, shots, shots on goal and game-winning goals.
Academically, he carried a 3.86 grade-point average in graduate school, majoring in Organizational Communications.
