Our new weekly feature "Behind the Bricks" allows DePaul letterwinners a chance to tell the DePaul community a little bit about themselves, a brief reflection on their time as a Blue Demon student-athlete and where they have gone since stepping off the court, field or diamond.
This feature was renamed "Behind the Bricks" to coincide with the dedication of the John and Dale Melbourne Herklotz Letterwinners Plaza and Champions Courtyard. With the plaza filled with 3,800 bricks representing DePaul's student-athletes since 1926, each brick has a story. "Behind the Bricks" will allow letterwinners to tell their "DePaul Story".

1. What does being a DePaul Letterwinner mean to you?
When I first joined the team at DePaul, the team was only two years old and Women's Soccer was not taken seriously at most universities. We worked really hard to build respect for our team and in return, we received huge support and finally recognition from the DePaul Athletics department. I am really proud to be a Letterwinner and really proud of what the team has become over the years...really strong players with really great personalities!!! Go Blue!!!
2. Why did you choose DePaul?
Free tuition and location.
3. What was your favorite memory while at DePaul?
In addition to playing soccer, I was also a member of the Ambassadors club all four years. We had a ton of fun taking newbies out on the town and to special events.
4. What was your funniest memory at DePaul?
At the time, it definitely wasn't funny...looking back now, it was hysterical! I was a Tour Guide for the Ambassadors club and was responsible for showing the campus to a group of potential incoming freshman. After showing them a room at Santuary Hall, we exited out the back door on Sheffield realizing to late that it was a fire door. The door behind us had already closed and locked. The entire tour was trapped between the two doors with no way out except to set off the fire alarm. After about an hour of waving to the security cameras a resident finally opened the door for us. When I talked to the front desk to ask them why they didn't send someone to get us out, they said they thought I was talking with my hands...seriously? After a whole hour? Funny stuff!
5. Brief Summary of your life from graduation till now:
Since graduating from DePaul, I worked in Film Production for 10 years. I was a Elementary School Teacher for 5 years and have been a Recruiter for the last several years. My favorite job, to date, has been working for FOX Sports BTN and hiring all the employees for the launch of the Big Ten Network back in 2007.
6. Is there a recent highlight that you would like to share with Alumni and friends of DePaul Athletics?
I recently celebrated my two year anniversary with Frank Sciacca and we just got a puppy named Lupa who is a mini-american eskimo - basically a little white poof ball.
7. What advice would you give to a current or future student-athlete?
Do what you want, live life to the fullest...and enjoy your time now because that's what matters.
