Cleveland Melvin Named to Old Spice Classic All-Tournament Team

ORLANDO - DePaul sophomore Cleveland Melvin was named to the five-player All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the Old Spice Classic Sunday night. The announcement was made following Dayton's win over Minnesota in the tournament finale.
Melvin averaged a team-best 21.0 points per game in DePaul's three games while going a perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line. He also averaged 6.3 rebounds while blocking four shots and recording three steals.
Dayton's Kevin Dillard was named tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Melvin, Jake Odum from Indiana State, Minnesota's Trevor Mbakwe and Rakim Sanders from Fairfield.
Fellow sophomore Brandon Young also made a strong case for All-Tournament honors as he averaged 20.0 points per game while shooting .550 (22-40) from the field and .500 (5-10) from three-point range. Young also added 15 assists and seven steals this week.
DePaul finished the tournament with a 2-1 record that included wins over Texas Tech and Arizona State. The Blue Demons opened the tournament with an 86-85 loss to Minnesota on Thursday.
The Blue Demons play their first game of the season at Allstate Arena on Dec. 1 against Mississippi in the BIG EAST/SEC Challenge.
