SYRACUSE, NY. -- The No. 10/13 DePaul women's basketball team stays out East to prepare for its BIG EAST Conference showdown with Syracuse on Feb. 8 at the Carrier Dome. The Blue Demons and Orange, who are ranked No. 25 in the USA/ESPN Coaches Poll, tip at 7 p.m. (EST). The game can be seen live in Chicago on WCUU (the U-Too) while it will also be carried on SNY and Time Warner Syracuse.

DePaul (21-3, 8-1 BIG EAST) is in the middle of a two-game road swing and dropped an 89-66 game at No. 2/2 Connecticut on Feb. 5.
The Blue Demons, who share second place in the BIG EAST standings with Notre Dame, are averaging 77.3 points per game and have won eight of their last nine games. Keisha Hampton leads the quartet of Blue Demons in double-figures with 15.5 per outing while Felicia Chester (12.1), Anna Martin (11.0) and Sam Quigley (10.8) are also averaging double-digits.
The Blue Demons and Orange are meeting for the sixth time since 2005-06 while DePaul leads the all-time series 4-1. Syracuse's lone series win came in Chicago during the 2008 season.
Syracuse (16-6, 4-5 BIG EAST) returns to the Carrier Dome after dropping a pair of road games. The Orange lost at No. 8/8 Notre Dame, 71-48 on Feb. 1, while Rutgers came from behind to take a 54-47 win on Feb. 6. Syracuse is 14-1 this season at home including a 3-1 mark against league opponents.
Following Tuesday's game, the Blue Demons return to McGrath Arena for a showdown with rival Marquette on Feb.12. The game which tips at 7 p.m. in Lincoln Park has been designated DePaul's Pink Zone game.
Saturday's Pink Zone features a halftime Cancer Survivors Tribute while money will be raised throughout the game for the Kay Yow Foundation as well as the Sisters Network of Chicago.

- Noting the Blue Demons (21-3, 8-1 BIG EAST): DePaul is 674-389 (.634) all-time... the 2010-11 campaign is the 37th season of women's basketball at DePaul University... since the start of the 2003-04 season (249 games), the Blue Demons have held 64.3 percent of their opponents to less than 70 points (160-of-249)... in that span, DePaul is 137-23 (.856) when holding opponents to less than 70 points... in that same time span, DePaul has scored 70 or more points in 169 games... DePaul is 147-22 (.870) when scoring 70 plus points... this season DePaul is 17-0 when it scores 70 or more points… in the last six seasons (219 games), the Blue Demons are 157-62 (.717)... in the last 65 home games against conference opponents, DePaul has posted 53 victories... over the last nine-plus seasons (342 games), DePaul has scored at least 80 points in 115 games... the Blue Demons hold a 110-5 (.957) record in those games... in the same span, DePaul is 47-1, including 45 straight wins, when scoring at least 90 points.
- Opponent 25: Syracuse (16-6, 4-5 BIG EAST): Syracuse opened the season by winning 12 of 13, since has gone 4-5 and has dropped its last two games… is 14-1 in home games played at the Carrier Dome or Manley Field house… 1-4 against ranked teams this season… win was against Ohio State at the Carrier Dome on Dec. 11, 2010… averaging 73.2 points per game and four players are regularly scoring in double-figures… Kayla Alexander leads her team with 14.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game… Alexander leads the BIG EAST with 67 blocks (3.0 per game)… Tasha Harris has dished out 91 assists this season… Quentin Hillsman is in his fifth season as head coach and has an 89-61 all-time record.
- The Series: Tuesday's game is the sixth series meeting between the two teams… DePaul leads the all-time series 4-1 and is 2-0 in games played in Syracuse… last season, Anna Martin scored a career-high 31 points in DePaul's 74-71 win in Chicago… DePaul trailed 35-29 at the half, but fueled by Martin's 26 second half points, the Blue Demons outscored the Orange 45-36 in the second half… Hampton scored 19 points in DePaul's win… Syracuse was led by 20 points from Juanita Ward and Nicole Michael.
- Looking back at Connecticut: Felicia Chester became DePaul's 26th 1,000 point scorer and third to eclipse the mark this season... Chester know has 1,009 career points... Chester reached double-figures for the 14th time this season and 45th of her career... she has now led DePaul in scoring in four games… DePaul is now 3-1 against Top 25 teams this season… the loss snaps an eight game winning streak for DePaul... first loss in BIG EAST Conference play... 8-1 start is the best for DePaul since joining the conference in 2005-06... - Looking ahead: Following Tuesday's game, the Blue Demons begin a three-game homestand… hosts Marquette (Feb. 12), Rutgers (Feb. 15) and Georgetown (Feb. 20)… DePaul game vs. Rutgers will be carried on CBSC and the Georgetown game is scheduled to air on ESPNU… DePaul's game against Marquette has been designated Pink Zone… against the Golden Eagles the Blue Demons will wear pink uniforms, feature a halftime Cancer Survivors Tribute while money will be raised throughout the game for the Kay Yow Foundation as well as the Sisters Network of Chicago.
- It Could Happen: Coach Doug Bruno could win his 520th career coaching victory and 480th at the collegiate level… Chester could play her 124th; Quigley could play her 122nd... Quigley could start her 94th consecutive game while Keisha Hampton could start her 91st… Quigley could have an assist in last 86 games.
- Assist Machine: As of February 6, DePaul ranks fifth in the nation and is second in the BIG EAST with 19.0 assists per game… BYU leads the country with 20.3 (466 assists), Gonzaga (485) follows with 20.2, Connecticut (462) follows leads the BIG EAST with 20.1 assists per game and Green Bay (455 assists) ranks fourth with 19.8 … DePaul averages 19.0 for fifth and has dished out 456 assists… the Blue Demons dished out a season-best 28 assists at UIC and against UC Riverside… has recorded 20 or more assists in 12 games this season... had an assist on 456 of its 697 baskets (65.4 percent)... second in the BIG EAST with 17.2 assists in conference games... DePaul's 1.27 assist/turnover ratio ranks fifth in the nation and second in the BIG EAST behind Connecticut (1.33).
- BIG EAST Numbers: The BIG EAST ranks it school's 21 different offensive and defensive categories... in conference games this season DePaul is ranked in the top 5 in 15 of those categories... DePaul leads the BIG EAST in assist to turnover ratio (1.3) while it ranks second assists (17.2), turnover margin (+4.8), and offensive rebounds (15.7).
- Taking Advantage from Beyond the Arc: Since the start of the 2005-06 season (187 games), the club has knocked down 1248 (6.7 per game) trifectas compared to just 941 (5.0 per game) for the opposition... DePaul is averaging 6.7, 3-pointers per game this season which ranks No. 52 in the Nation and third in the BIG EAST... DePaul had a season-best 12, 3-pointers against UC Riverside on Nov. 27 and recorded 12 against Northwestern on Dec. 13... the 12, 3-pointers were the most by DePaul since it went 14-for-34 at Cincinnati on Mar. 2, 2009... 12, 3-pointers also tied a BIG EAST Conference single-game best this season... Villanova, Syracuse West Virginia, Louisville and Marquette have also tallied 12, 3-pointers in a game this season... with three 3-pointers against San Diego State at the NCAA Championship in San Diego, the team clinched the 10th straight year with at least 200 three-pointers... a 0-for-8 showing against Houston on Feb. 11, 2005, ended DePaul's streak with a three-pointer at 259 games... at the time, it was the nation's seventh-longest active streak... more recently, the Blue Demons 0-14 showing at Northern Illinois in 2009 ended a 144 game streak with a 3-pointer, while they were also 0-11 against Arkansas also in 2009... including the Houston, Northern Illinois and Arkansas games, the Blue Demons have tallied a three-pointer in 453 of the last 456 games… DePaul has made 200 or more 3-pointers in 10 of its last 11 seasons… the 2009-10 team tallied 163 to end DePaul's streak at 10 seasons... through 24 games, DePaul has 161 3-pointers this season... DePaul has had at least one 3-pointer in its last 47 games.
- 70 is the Magic Number: DePaul has scored 70 or more points in 17 of its 21 wins this season... DePaul is 17-0 this season when scoring 70 or more points... DePaul has scored 64 or more points in all 21 of its wins this season.
- Climbing in the Associated Press Poll: DePaul reached a program-best No. 9 in Associated Press Poll released on Jan. 31... DePaul's previous best was a No. 10 ranking which it received on Jan. 16, 2006… this week DePaul slipped to No. 10 after falling at Connecticut, 89-66 on Feb. 5… the Blue Demons have received votes in every poll this season and entered the Poll on Dec. 6.. DePaul is one of six BIG EAST School's ranked in the AP Poll... Connecticut is No. 2, Notre Dame is ranked No. 8, and DePaul follows at No. 10, , Georgetown and West Virginia are 16 and 17, respectively and Marquette is No. 21.
- Making Moves in the USA Today/ESPN Poll: After receiving votes all season in the USA Today/ESPN Poll the Blue Demons entered the poll at No. 25 on Dec. 14... DePaul is currently ranked No. 13 in the coaches poll and is one of eight BIG EAST teams in the poll.
- Millennials: Three Blue Demons - Felicia Chester, Keisha Hampton and Sam Quigley have all reached the 1,000 career point mark this season… most recently Chester became DePaul's 26th 1,000 point scorer at Connecticut on Feb. 5… Hampton and Quigley both reached the 1,000 point mark during the week of Dec. 6… Quigley scored her 1,000th point with a season-best 17 point performance at Pittsburgh on Dec. 7…the senior point guard has 1,169 career points… Hampton reached the 1,000 mark by hitting the front end of a one-and-one against Northern Illinois on Dec. 11… Hampton has scored 1,173 points in 90 career games (13.0 ppg)… the junior has reached double figures in 62 of her 90 games (68.9 percent).
- BIG EAST Scoring Drive: Keisha Hampton's 15.5 points per game leads DePaul and ranks sixth in the BIG EAST… scoring average ranks 12nd in the nation... reached double-figures in 20 of DePaul's 24 games... scored 20 or more points in six games and had a career-best 30 against Illinois State on Dec. 1, 2010... led DePaul in scoring in 11 games this season... .748 (92-for-123) from the free throw line is the 13th best free throw percentage in the league... in league games, Hampton is averaging 13.8 points (11th) and .756 (31-for-41) free throw percentage (14th), .385 (15-for-39) 3-point field goal percentage (11th) and 1.7 3-pointers per game (15th) .
- Wade Watch: On Feb. 7 Keisha Hampton was one of seven athletes added to the Wade Watch List... Hampton is one of 32 student-athletes on the Midseason List.
- Ranked Teams at McGrath Arena: DePaul is 8-12 (.400) all-time against Top 25 opponents at McGrath Arena since the 2000-01 season... this season, the Blue Demons topped then-No. 3/2 Stanford, 91-71 on Dec. 16 and No. 8/8 West Virginia, 78-55 on Jan. 30... in games that DePaul has won over a ranked opponents the Blue Demons average margin of victory was 14.1 points... DePaul has lost just 21 games since McGrath Arena opened in 2000-01 of those 12 have come to ranked teams... five of those 12 losses were decided by three or less points... DePaul's game with Tennessee in 2003 went to overtime with the Blue Demons falling 96-89... narrowly fell to No. 1/1 Connecticut 81-80 during the 2007-08 season.
- Home Cookin: In its 37th season of women's basketball at DePaul University, the Blue Demons have an all-time home court record of 395-105 (.790). Over 26 seasons at Alumni Hall, the women's basketball program won over 75 percent of its games with a 242-80 all-time record. At the Allstate Arena, the women's program has posted an all-time record of 22-4.
There have been 16 streaks of at least 10 straight home victories. The longest streak was a 33-game run that started on Dec. 19, 2003 with a 99-63 win over Alabama State and ended on Jan. 28, 2006 with an 84-75 defeat to #5/4 Connecticut. The Blue Demons' 11-game winning streak dating back to the 2006-07 season ended on Jan. 2, 2008 with the 102-68 loss to #3/3 Tennessee.
DePaul is currently on a 15-game streak which dates back to a 68-57 win over Pittsburgh on Feb. 23, 2010. The Blue Demons are 13-0 this season at home and recently knocked off #3/2 Stanford, 91-71 on Dec. 16, 2010 and #8/8 West Virginia 78-55 on Jan. 30, 2011. During DePaul's current 15-game winning streak the Blue Demons have an average margin of victory of 21.7 points per game.
Over the last seven-plus years at McGrath Arena, the team is 110-14 at home with five losses to teams ranked in the top five. DePaul lost in overtime to #2/2 Tennessee on Dec. 17, 2003, before the Connecticut loss in Jan. 2006. Tennessee, ranked third in both polls, served DePaul its fifth defeat before the 77-76 loss to #1/1 Connecticut on Mar. 1, 2008. Maybe more impressive is that the Blue Demons' average margin of victory during that span that 20.6 points per game.
The Blue Demons have also posted 105 victories in the last 108 games over unranked opponents. West Virginia ended DePaul's 58-game streak over unranked opponents with a 74-63 decision on Jan. 9, 2007 before Pittsburgh and Louisville handed the Blue Demons defeats in 2007-08. During the 58-game streak, there were 54 victories at McGrath Arena and four wins at the Allstate Arena.
- BIG EAST Player of the Week: Keisha Hampton was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Dec. 20... becomes the first DePaul player since the 2007-08 season to earn the weekly honor... a Blue Demon has been named Player of the Week seven times since DePaul joined the conference in 2005-06... Allie Quigley earned the honor three time, Khara Smith twice and Deirdre Naughton once... Hampton was named the league's Player of the Week after scoring 27 points in DePaul's win over No. 3/2 Stanford... Hampton also dished out a career-high six assists in DePaul's win over Northwestern.
- BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Times Three: Keisha Hampton was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Nov. 22, again on Dec. 3 and most recently on Jan. 17... following DePaul's first four games Hampton led the Blue Demons with 17.8 points per game and a .895 (17-for-19) effort from the free throw line… Hampton's free throw with six second left against Florida sealed DePaul's victory… she was also named to the Preseason WNIT All-Tournament team… the second time Hampton was named to the honor roll she averaged 22.0 points per game and scored career-best 31 against Illinois State... her third honor roll accolade came after averging 19.0 points and 7.0 rebounds and a 1.2 assist to turnover ratio.
- BIG EAST Weekly Honor - Quigley Times Two: Named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Dec. 13 and then again on Jan. 30... her first honor came after becoming DePaul's 24th 1,000 point scorer at Pittsburgh and dished out a season-best seven assists...against Pitt and Northern Illinois she finished the week with an 11-for-13 effort at the Charity stripe… Quigley earned her second weekly honor after leading DePaul with 14.0 points in DePaul's wins at Cincinnati and against #8/8 West Virginia... made a career-best seven 3-pointers in win at Cincinnati.
- Raining 3s: Deirdre Naughton and Sam Quigley enter the 2010-11 season ranked in DePaul's top 13 for 3-point field goals and 3-point field goal attempts... Quigley currently has 164, 3-pointers on 482 attempts which ranks sixth in 3-point field goals and fifth in attempts... she needs 11 3-pointer to tie Jenna Rubino (2003-07) for fifth on DePaul's all-time 3-point list... Naughton has 129, 3-pointers on 395 attempts in a Blue Demon uniform which ranks her 12th in total 3-point field goals and ninth in attempts... Lenae Williams holds DePaul's record with 303 3-point field goals on 924 attempts.
- Sam's Seven Threes: Sam Quigley drained a career-best seven 3-pointers at Cincinnati on Jan. 25… seven 3-pointers is the third most by any DePaul player in school history… seven 3-pointers is the most by a BIG EAST player in league games this season... Lenae Williams holds the DePaul record with eight which she did twice during her career.
- Vote Daily, Quigley has CLASS: On Jan. 26, 2011, Sam Quigley was named one of 10 Finalist for the prestigious Lowe's Senior CLASS award... awarded to the all-around athlete, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Awards honors the student-athlete who excels not only on the floor but also the community, classroom and character… fans can vote daily for Quigley
- Harry's Block Party: Sophomore Katherine Harry averages 1.9 blocks this season and 2.0 blocks in conference play which ranks third.. Harry has recorded at least one block in all nine of DePaul's league games this season... had at least one block in 21 of her 25 career conference games... in 24 games this season she is averaging 1.9 blocks per game which ranks third in the league... this season her 45 blocks which is the ninth most in single-season by a DePaul players... needs one block to tie Diana Vines (1988-89) and two to tie Natasha Williams (2007-08) for seventh... Cathy Pezdirtz holds DePaul's single-season record with 118 blocks... Harry's 81 career blocks ranks ninth all-time... she needs seven to tie Natasha Williams (2007-09) with 88... Pezdirtz holds the career record with 255 blocks.
- "Three-Anna Ortiz": Junior guard Deanna Ortiz has been draining 3-pointers this season... of Ortiz's 30 field goals, 22 have been 3-pointers... her .407 percentage from behind the arc ranks seventh the BIG EAST Conference... she averages 1.2 trifectas per game this season.
- Lots and Lots of Games: Felicia Chester and Sam Quigley are both fifth you seniors... Chester has played in 123 career games and Quigley has appeared in 122... assistant director of basketball operation, Khara Smith played in a school-record 131 games in her career... if DePaul plays 33 games again this season (the Blue Demons played 33 in 2008-09 and in 2009-10) the pair is on track to break Smith's record.
- Dishing it Out: Sam Quigley currently has 447 career assists (3.7 assists per game) which ranks as the third most in school history... Quigley needs to dish out 24 more assists to tie Molly Watson (1997-01) for second all-time... Watson has 471 while Veronica Ross (1986-90) holds the school record 672.
- Streaking: Dating back to last season and in some cases, the last couple of seasons, the Blue Demons have put together various streaks. Listed below are some current active streaks:
- 63 straight victories over unranked non-conference opponents at home
- 47 games with at least one 3-pointer
- 15-game winning streak at McGrath Arena --- dates back to Feb. 23, 2010
- Nine consecutive wins over programs from the State of Illinois
- Eight consecutive NCAA Championship appearances
- Coach Doug Bruno Court: Beginning in the 2010-11 season, the Blue Demons will play their home games at McGrath Arena on the Coach Doug Bruno Court… DePaul's Director of Athletics, Jean Lenti Ponsetto made the announcement on Nov. 16, 2009 and the court was formally dedicated on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010… the 2010-11 season marks Coach Bruno's 25th season at DePaul… Bruno currently has 479 collegiate wins and 40 wins as the head coach of the Chicago Hustle (WBL - Professional Team in Chicago)… Coach Bruno becomes just the fifth NCAA women's coach and just the third DI coach to have a court named in his honor… Bruno follows, Kay Yow from North Carolina State and Pat Summitt who has the court at Tennessee and Tennessee Martin named in her honor… Lin L. Laursen has "Larsen Court" at Central Arizona College (NJCAA) while there is the Pam Evans Smith Arena at Wittenberg University
- Smart Seniors: Felicia Chester and Sam Quigley were both named to Capital One Academic All-District Five® team... Chester was named a first-team selection, while Quigley earned second-team honors... Chester, who is majoring sociology with a concentration in cultural studies and a minor in psychology, boasts a 3.83 GPA and will appear on the national ballot... Quigley, who graduated cum laude with her undergraduate degree in Physical Education in June 2010, is currently pursuing her Masters in Educational Leadership and boasts a 4.0 GPA in her graduate studies
- A 10-game streak: DePaul's 10-game winning streak came to an end at Arizona State on Dec. 21… during the streak which started on Nov. 23 at UIC and continued through DePaul's 91-71 win over then-No. 3/2 Stanford on Dec. 16… the Blue Demons have averaged 83.3 points per game, while holding its opponents to 58.6 points… average margin of victory is +24.7 points... DePaul scored 80 or more points in six games while its lowest scoring output was 67 points at BIG EAST Conference foe Pittsburgh… during the streak, Keisha Hampton (16.7), Sam Quigley (11.5) and Felicia Chester (11.5) all averaged double figures… DePaul outrebounded its opponents 39.8 to 34.0… Taylor Pikes (6.8), Katherine Harry (6.6) and Felicia Chester (6.2) are each averaged more than six rebounds per game... DePaul shot .500 (305-for-610) from the field while holding it opponents to just .359 (209-for-582)... the Blue Demons had an assist on 208 of its 305 field goals (68.2 percent) during the streak.
- Naismith Preseason Watch List: Keisha Hampton became one of 50 Division I student-athletes to be named to the Naismith Watch List on Nov. 10… Hampton enters her junior season with 800 career points and has started every game since coming to Lincoln Park in 2008-09… Hampton is a preseason All-BIG EAST performer and earned All-Freshman honors in 2008-09 and was a second-team All-BIG EAST selection last season.
- Coaching on the same side, coaching separately: DePaul head coach Doug Bruno and Connecticut head coach Geno Auriemma's teamed up this summer to help the USA National Team win Gold at the FIBA World Championship in the Czech Republic on Oct. 3, 2010... Auriemma served as the team's head coach while Bruno was an assistant along with Jennifer Gillom of the WNBA Minnesota Lynx and Marynell Meadors of the Atlanta Dream.
- Lieberman Buzz List: Sam Quigley has been added to the Nancy Lieberman Award Buzz List... Quigley was a finalist for the Award in 2010... the senior point guard ranks third in the BIG EAST with 4.9 assists per game and has dished out five or more assists in eight games this season and 41 in her career... boasts a 1.9 assist to turnover ratio which ranks fourth in the BIG EAST.
- Marching Along: DePaul made its eighth consecutive and the program's 15th NCAA Championship appearance in 2010… the Blue Demons were one of seven BIG EAST programs in the field of 64... the conference led all leagues along with the SEC with teams earning bids... the program is 7-15 (.318) all-time in NCAA Championship play...DePaul is one of 13 teams to appear in each of the last eight tournaments... joining the Blue Demons on the list of 13 teams with eight straight NCAA's are Connecticut, Duke, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Stanford, Tennessee and Vanderbilt... the eight straight appearances are a program record for consecutive NCAA's... DePaul earned four consecutive NCAA berths from 1990-93 followed by a three-year run from 1995-97... the program is 4-9 entering in its last eight tournament appearances, including a 2006 NCAA Regional Semifinal appearance in San Antonio, Texas.
