Young, Melvin Lead Blue Demons to Two Straight

TOULOUGES, France - The firm of Melvin and Young laid down the law in France on Wednesday to lead DePaul to a 98-80 win over Toulouges. The duo combined for 51 points as DePaul opened up a one-point halftime lead for its second victory in as many games in France.
The Blue Demons held a 49-48 advantage before outscoring Toulouges, 49-32, in the final two periods. Young knocked down five of DePaul's nine three-pointers to finish with a team-high 26 points. He also added a team-high six assists along with three steals and three rebounds.
Melvin posted an impressive 25-point, 13-rebound double-double while also blocking four shots. He recorded his second straight game of 25 points as he led the Blue Demons in a 118-77 win over Charenton on Saturday.
Jeremiah Kelly and Moses Morgan also reached double-figures with Kelly totaling 14 points, four assists and four steals while Morgan chipped in 10 points and seven boards. Incoming freshman Montray Clemons pulled down 10 rebounds (six offensive) while scored seven points. Tony Freeland grabbed seven rebounds with five points and Krys Faber added six boards and four points.
The schedule gets busier for the Blue Demons this week as they play back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday to conclude the trip to France. DePaul plays a game in Golfe-Juan, France on Aug. 19 and Monaco on Aug. 20 before returning to Chicago on Aug. 21.
