Volleyball Ready for Saturday Match, Sunday's Home Opener

CHICAGO - Following its Saturday evening matchup against Loyola at the Chicagoland Challenge hosted by UIC, the DePaul University volleyball team will host Montana State on Sunday at noon in the Blue Demons home opener at the McGrath-Phillips Arena.
DePaul will face Montana State for the second time in its program history, but the two schools haven't matched up since 1985 when the Blue Demons fell in four sets to the Bobcats.
So far this season, DePaul has seen substantial contribution from new faces as freshman Amy Lanski leads the squad with 54 kills while junior transfer Kelsey Bowler has tallied 70 digs as the Blue Demons' libero. Returner Sammy Geiger has also continued to rack up the assists with 144 in five matches to date while also notching a .316 hitting percentage.
Before the Sunday showdown, the Blue Demons continue their action-packed weekend today at 5 p.m. when they face off against Loyola in the consolation match of the Chicagoland Challenge. DePaul fell in four sets on Friday to host UIC who will encounter Northwestern in the tournament's championship match.
