Nedow Earns Second Straight BIG EAST Weekly Award

CHICAGO - For the second time in as many chances this season, DePaul senior thrower Tim Nedow has been named the BIG EAST Indoor Male Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
At Saturday's Badger Track Classic, Nedow registered a throw of 19.59 meters-a new DePaul record. The Blue Demon senior broke his own record of 19.51 meters that he set in December at the Blue and Gold Invitational. Saturday's throw earned him first place for the second straight competition and the distance is the third best in the nation this year.
Louisville junior Michelle Theophille was named Female Field Athlete of the Week while Pittsburgh sophomore Brycen Spratling was named BIG EAST Male Track Athlete of the Week and Connecticut Freshman Lindsay Crevoiserat earned BIG EAST Female Track Athlete of the Week honors.
The next BIG EAST Track and Field Weekly Awards will be released on Jan. 24, 2012.
The Blue Demons compete next on Saturday when they travel to Notre Dame, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational.
