Men's Tennis Falls to Arkansas

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The DePaul men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to Arkansas on Saturday at Iowa's Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. DePaul falls to 5-3, while Arkansas improves to 5-0 on the young season.
Arkansas started the match by winning the doubles point with wins on the first and third courts. Although the Razorbacks clinched the doubles point, DePaul's Mathias Hambach and Sven Kasper improved to 6-1 on the season with their 8-4 victory on the second court.
Heading into singles action, the Razorbacks jumped out to a 3-0 advantage before George Chanturia topped Gregoire Lehmann 6-2, 7-5 on the second court for DePaul's first point of the match. The win was Chanturia's 16th of the season and the senior improves to 3-1 in the number two position.
Arkansas followed and clinched the match with their win on the fourth court.
Not wanting to give up, Blue Demon sophomore Filip Dzanko won his match in the top spot 6-3, 6-2 over Nikolas Zogaj. Dzanko leads the Blue Demons with a 17-5 singles mark and is now 3-0 in the number one position.
The Blue Demons return to the courts on Sunday when they take on Iowa at 1 p.m.
