CHICAGO - After a tough loss in inclement weather on Friday night, the DePaul men's soccer team looks to bounce back on Tuesday at 3 p.m. when it welcomes cross-town foe Loyola to Wish Field for a Red Line Rivalry matchup.
The Blue Demons (1-3-0) hope to regain the scoring touch that they showed in the season opener--a 2-1 win over UIC--while the Ramblers (0-3-0) will be fighting for their first win of the 2012 campaign.
In a rain-delayed match on Friday, DePaul dropped a 3-0 decision to the Cougars of SIU-Edwardsville. The result came not for a lack of effort, however, as Blue Demon goalkeeper Eric Sorby registered six saves in the match against an SIUE team that received votes in last week's NSCAA/Continental Tire Top 25 Poll.
Loyola's last match came on Saturday afternoon when it lost, 4-1, to Western Michigan, a squad that also bested the Blue Demons earlier this season.
The last time the Ramblers and Blue Demons faced off was September 14 of last year. With the match taking place on Loyola's home turf, the two teams drew, 1-1, in a double-overtime affair. In the last five matches of the Red Line Rivalry, DePaul holds a 2-1-2 advantage.
Following Tuesday's match, the Blue Demons return to the road as they travel to Ohio State for a 6:30 p.m. Friday matchup against the Buckeyes.
