
DePaul Falls in Second Match at HEB Tournament

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - DePaul men's tennis dropped its afternoon match, 4-1, against South Alabama on the campus of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday at the HEB Tournament of Champions.
Mathias Hambach was a winner at second singles for the Blue Demons, defeating the Jaguars' Alex Bernhard 7-6 (0), 6-3. The senior had a hand in both points DePaul earned during the day.
In Friday's morning match, Hambach teamed up with Jan-Willem Feilzer for a win in doubles over MTSU's 35th-ranked pair of Ben Davis and Victor Cornea.
The two squads skipped doubles play as DePaul dropped to 3-8 overall in dual match play. South Alabama improved to 5-6 after dropping its early match against Texas-San Antonio.
DePaul will wrap up play at the two-day tournament tomorrow, facing Western Michigan in the 7th place consolation match. Match time is yet to be determined.
