MILWAUKEE - This wasn't the way DePaul men's soccer wanted to end the season.
Nothing went right for the Blue Demons Friday night in a 4-0 BIG EAST Conference loss to Marquette in the final game of the regular season.
DePaul finished up 4-10-4 and 1-6-2 in the conference while Marquette (8-5-4, 2-3-4) clinches the No. 6 seed in the BIG EAST championship.
The Golden Eagles opened the scoring in the 27th minute when CoCo Navarro scored his second goal of the season, controlling a long pass with his chest at the corner of the 18 and firing a shot into the DePaul net that deflected off a defender.
It was going to be one of those nights.
In the 43rd minute, Jack Alberts scored on a flick after a service into the box from Axel Sjoberg, who also picked up an assist on the first Marquette goal.
Louis Bennett II made it 3-0 with a finish in the box in the 48th minute off an Adam Hermsen assist. C. Nortey culminated the scoring in the 73rd minute with his seventh goal of the season.
