Volleyball Welcomes UIC for Midweek Non-Conference Match

CHICAGO - The DePaul volleyball team opens the busy week with a Tuesday night match against Illinois-Chicago at 7 p.m. CT. The non-conference match is the first for DePaul since the Blue Demons defeated Bradley to win the Bradley Invitational.
Jameson MacPhie stepped up for the Blue Demons last match with a career-high 13 kills against Marquette. MacPhie has 28 kills through 24 sets this season.
Colleen Smith continued her climb up the all-time DePaul career assist leaderboard when she moved into fourth Saturday night. The junior setter has a 9.74 assists per set average and has a total of 838 this year.
Callie Huebener continues to be a force on the serve. The senior has amassed 36 service aces and a 0.40 service aces per set average. Huebener ranks third on the team for points with 233.5.
In the all-time series between the two programs, UIC has a 23-16 advantage and won last year's meeting 3-1.
DePaul has a hitting percentage of .236 this year through 24 matches, while UIC hits .195 and allows opponents to hit .235.

Playing UIC in the Windy City Invitational last year, DePaul dropped a 3-1 decision to the Flames. Colleen Smith recorded her second double-double of the tournament by posting 32 assists and 19 digs and had a team-best hitting percentage of .556. Saige Gallop was the lone Blue Demon to finish with double-digit kills and posted 73 total attacks. Caitlyn Coffey and Randi Leath chipped in with six kills each.
Scouting The Flames
UIC heads into McGrath-Phillips Arena Tuesday night with a 12-14 overall record. The Flames have lost four of their last five matches, including back-to-back straight set defeats. Stephenee Yancy leads the attack for UIC with a 4.59 kills per set average and 894 total attacks. Alyssa Ehrhardt follows behind with 886 total attacks with 2.70 kills per set. Nicole Johnson helps set up the offense for the Flames, registering 11.33 assists per set. Johnson's 1,122 assists are a team-best, while
no other student-athlete has more than 39.
