Garrett Earns Weekly League Recognition

CHICAGO - DePaul junior guard Billy Garrett Jr. was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Monday morning after leading the Blue Demons to a win over No. 20 George Washington last week. This week's honor is the second of the season for the Chicago native.
Garrett went 8-for-11 from the floor en route to 20 points in the 82-61 victory over the 20th-ranked Colonials. He added seven assists and also went 4-of-5 from the free throw line in 33 minutes of action. Garrett scored at least 20 points for the second time this season and seventh time of his career while also registering his 10th double-figure outing in 12 games this season.
Garrett also picked up the weekly recognition on Nov. 16 following the season opener against Western Michigan.
Providence's Ben Bentil was named the league's Player of the Week while Xavier's Edmond Sumner was selected as the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Garrett was joined on the honor roll by Geoffrey Groselle from Creighton, Marquette's Henry Ellenson, Josh Hart from Villanova and Xavier's Trevon Bluiett.
The Blue Demons return to Allstate Arena on Wednesday to open the BIG EAST schedule against Georgetown. Start time in Rosemont is scheduled for 8 p.m. and the game can be seen on FS1 and heard on WSCR 670 AM.
