Rosemont 500: DePaul Hosts Chicago State in Milestone Game

CHICAGO - DePaul plays its first home game since the season opener in a Saturday afternoon contest against Chicago State. The game is the first of the season for the Blue Demons at Allstate Arena and marks the 500th all-time game at the facility. DePaul is in its 36th season in Rosemont following the first game on Dec. 1, 1980.
Saturday's game will be televised on FS1 with Aaron Goldsmith (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) handling the television duties. DePaul is at 3-3 while Chicago State stands at 3-5 this season. The Blue Demons have won two straight with a four-point win over Norfolk State at the Paradise Jam on Nov. 23 followed by an 82-55 decision at UIC on Wednesday night. Head coach Dave Leitao is in his fourth season at DePaul and his first since returning to the program after leading the Blue Demons to three postseasons in three years from 2002-05. Overall, the 2015-16 campaign is Leitao's 10th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Chicago State is led by Tracy Dildy who is in his sixth season leading the Cougars.
Following the Chicago State game, the Blue Demons travel to Drake for a Wednesday night game in Des Moines. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start on ESPN3 and WIND 560 AM.

New Look BIG EAST in Third Season: The BIG EAST Conference features 10 basketball-centric institutions that will continue the tradition of one of the nation's top basketball leagues.
The BIG EAST roster includes Butler University, Creighton University, DePaul University, Georgetown University, Marquette University, Providence College, St. John's University, Seton Hall University, Villanova University and Xavier University.
The league's conference tournament will be held at Madison Square Garden with television partner FOX Sports providing nationwide coverage of the conference year-around on FOX Sports 1.
The conference schedule will consist of 18 games with each school playing home-and-away games against the other nine teams. The BIG EAST Tournament presented by New York Life is scheduled for March 9-12, 2016 at Madison Square Garden.
The membership is a combined 51-17 (.750) against non-conference opponents through games of Dec. 2. Last season saw the 10 schools post an impressive combined record of 94-30 (.758) against non-BIG EAST teams in the regular season.
