
DePaul Upsets Purdue in Chicago

CHICAGO -- The DePaul men's tennis team picked up a huge victory over nationally-ranked Purdue on Friday night in Chicago to snap its two-match losing streak.
The Blue Demons improved to 6-2 with the victory, while the No. 51 Boilermakers fell to 2-5.
DePaul got a huge lift from its No. 1 and No. 3 doubles pairs to start the day. David Vieyra and Jan-Willem Feilzer defeated Diego Acosta and Arthur Dobradin, 6-3, in the No. 1 contest and Alex Galoustian teamed with Nathan de Veer to beat Lucas Dages and Renen Hanayama, 6-4, at No. 3 doubles. The No. 2 match was left unfinished; the score was tied at six when the match was stopped.
In singles play, the Blue Demons picked up points from their No. 3-6 players. De Veer beat Hanayama, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 3 singles and Galoustian remained perfect this spring with a convincing 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Mateus Silva in the No. 4 slot. Galoustian is now 8-0 in dual play.
Kyle Johnson outlasted Dobradin, 4-6, 6-3, 10-6, in the No. 5 singles match and Feilzer won a two-set match over Dages, 6-0, 7-5, at No. 6 singles to cap the day.
Next up for the Blue Demons is a Sunday morning match on the road against Green Bay. Match time is slated for 10 a.m.
