Men's Tennis Loses 4-1 Match to Southern Miss

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The DePaul men's tennis team fell in its MTSU Shootout opener at the hands of Southern Miss on Friday afternoon.
The 4-1 loss dropped DePaul's overall record to 10-7. Southern Miss improved to 14-5.
The Blue Demons lost 2-of-3 doubles matches to start the day down 1-0 despite a win from Kyle Johnson and Sten Leusink in the No. 2 doubles match over Alex Doleac and Brad Marriott. The pair's 6-4 win moved their spring record to 8-3.
In singles play, Southern Miss won three matches to reach the four point plateau and clinch the contest. DePaul's lone win in singles play was recorded by Alex Galoustian, who won a 6-1, 6-1 match over Doleac at No. 4 singles.
DePaul will meet the loser of the Southern Illinois and South Alabama match tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. in a consolation match.
