DePaul Loses Tournament Opener to Arizona

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The DePaul men's tennis team lost its H-E-B Tournament of Champions opener to Arizona on Friday morning in Texas.
The 4-2 defeat dropped the Blue Demons' overall record to 7-5, while Arizona moves to 6-7.
DePaul took 2-of-3 in doubles play to start the day up 1-0. David Vieyra and Jan-Willem Feilzer beat Sumeet Shinde and Naoki Takeda, 7-6 (4) at No. 1 doubles and Alex Galoustian and Nathan de Veer took care of Matt Dunn and Shoki Kasahara, 6-2, in the No. 3 match.
But DePaul managed just one singles win in the match, coming from Feilzer, who beat Kasahara, 6-2, 7-6 (8), in the No. 6 position.
DePaul will play its second match of the day today at 4:30 against UT-San Antonio.
