CHICAGO - Erik Rodriguez did a nice job getting the Blue Demons back on the winning track, and for that effort, he was singled out by the BIG EAST on Monday.
Rodriguez scored both goals in a 2-1 victory over Seton Hall last Saturday that brought DePaul its first conference points and snapped a three-game slump.
The senior midfielder put the Blue Demons on the board in the 18th minute deflecting a cross into the net after a smooth connection from Zach El-Shafei to John Freitag.
Seton Hall found the equalizer in the 32nd minute, but Rodriguez sent the Wish Field crowd home smiling after converting a rebound of a Hans Wustling shot in the 89th minute.
In NCAA statistics released Monday, DePaul is No. 8 in the country in points, No. 9 in assists and No. 13 in goals.
Quentin Low is No. 10 in the nation in goalkeeper minutes and Simon Megally is No. 34 in points.
The Blue Demons are back in action Saturday with a noon conference match at Georgetown.
